Delano area friends - if you're searching for a gym try out Crow River CrossFit! I really can't stress enough what a great place this is. Owners and coaches are ALL super great people who genuinely want to help you succeed. The members make every class really fun. Best part is you will see some really great results and will feel good. It's not all CrossFit stuff, there are kettlebells/general circuit training type classes. Let me know if you want to go with me sometime.And for the non Delano area fb friends or those who don't care about gyms or my love for Crow River CrossFit but are still reading, sorry to waste your time with my plug. CrossFit is for Everyone!

You can see it in my face, I was struggling...Not just with that particular work out, but life in general! I wanted to post this for awhile, today on my 42nd fitting. I am in the best health I have ever been because of you Alan Wissbroecker and Renee Wissbroecker and your gym. There is not enough space to write and words fail me. So I will simply say I am SO grateful and thankful for you and your gym! Because of you, my life has done a 180 and I can never possibly express my gratitude. So on behalf of Ryan and my self, thank you..for EVERYTHING! ~Kirsten


Yesterday marked my 1 year anniversary at Crow River CrossFit, and I wanted to post my progress because some weeks I don't feel like I'm making any progress but looking back it's clear that I have. The first photos are from a charity workout event I did last July. It was my first workout postpartum (3 months). I became determined to get my pre-baby body/energy/no-knee-pain back so I joined Crow River the next week (after recovering from my 5+ day muscle soreness). A year later, I'm stronger than I imagined I would be and feel really good. Thanks to everyone for keeping me motivated and making this fun, I could not have done this on my own. I'm excited to keep improving with you all.

Late check in on a Bragging Friday. Down 14.3 lbs and 5.4% body fat since the new year with milestone today of under 20% body fat for the 1st time since ever. This is the first time I’ve incorporated any strength/cross training into serious marathon prep and I can honestly say this is the strongest, freshest and most confident I’ve ever felt 11 weeks in. Thanks to all the coaches and shout out to my 5:30 am crew for putting up with me. I’ve never been a part of a community that inspires or motivates as much as this gym family does for me #imgonnaneednewpants

I have to give a shout out to Alan Wissbroecker and Renee Wissbroecker at Crow River Crossfit! Over the past few years I have struggled with many things and had gotten to a low point with myself while keeping it mostly hidden from everyone. 4 weeks ago I stopped making excuses and feeling sorry for myself and met with Alan and Renee. I started working out at Crossfit and getting nutrition coaching from them. They have held me accountable and pushed me to keep going. The positive and encouraging environment is priceless and I couldn’t do it without the support of everyone there! I am so happy to say that my energy is coming back, I’m feeling so much better and I’m down 6 lbs. of body fat!! 🎉🎉. I have a long way to go but feeling excited and encouraged! Such an amazing group of people and just want to say Thank You!!

Character Education + Fitness

Respect. Confidence. Effort. Honesty. Vision. Teamwork. Perseverance. Integrity. Honesty. Manners. Dependability. Are these qualities that you strive to instill in your children? Last spring, my seven-year old son and five-year old daughter enrolled in a CrossFit class called KidsFit at Crow River CrossFit in Delano. Coaches Phillip, Mike, and Alan enthusiastically integrate character education, fitness and fun into a high energy, kid-friendly course. Weekly, I observe a wide range of school-aged students learn and perform the techniques for running, jumping, push-ups, pull-ups, wall-sits, squats, planks, cross-lateral coordination, rope climbs, hand stands, etc. Elements of nutrition are also taught. A strong sense of community is evident as the kids encourage each other to persevere through difficult tasks. Although fitness is a focus, values and character education are the main components of the Youth Empowerment Systems curriculum developed by former U.S. Olympic Training Center resident athletes. Students work toward achieving leveled fitness challenges that increase in difficulty. For example, the level one run test is 800 meters, followed by the level two test of running 800 meters in under five minutes. Upon passing a test, students get a star filled in on the backside of their t-shirt indicating successful completion of the task. Students graduate to a new t-shirt of a designated color after completing the required tasks within the levels represented on their current shirt. My kids eagerly anticipate attending KidsFit offered Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. Both of my kids have shown an increase in self-confidence, dealing with disappointment, and setting and achieving goals. The athletic skills and strength gained through KidsFit have visibly transferred to soccer and gymnastics. Furthermore, the values reinforced in class have bridged the learning between home and KidsFit. Perhaps the most impressive is the effort of the coaches to learn about the individual needs of the students and personalize instruction. The individualized coaching, content competency, and developmentally appropriate learning make KidsFit a unique educational sports experience. From two career teachers with thirty-five years of combined experience, we give the KidsFit staff and program our highest endorsement.

Can't say enough wonderful things about this!!! This is my older son's team and my younger son does it with his team as well. They Crossfit coaches are amazing and the boys respond so well to them. They make it fun but teach them and work them hard at the same time. If you haven't tried it with your team, go just one time and you will be hooked! The boys are now scheduled to go once a week at their request.
