What year did you start CrossFitting?


Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I’ve always been active. I thought it was cool when I joined the Army and I’d get paid to workout (it was a requirement to do PT). I competed nationally in Taekwondo, which led me into kettlebells. After training several years with kettlebells, I got into CrossFit. I no longer compete in Taekwondo, instead I do some CrossFit competitions to satisfy my competitive spirit.

Why did you become a trainer?

I’ve always loved helping people. I have worked for over 20 years in the occupational safety profession.

After many people saw changes that kettlebells had on me, they asked to join my workouts. That led to me getting certified in kettlebells, and then starting the gym.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

Pull-ups and cleans.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Beer, pizza and any kind of Mexican!

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

The incredible hulk – he’s big and green.
