What year did you start CrossFitting?

2015

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

My husband started CrossFit almost a year before I did. He told me I would love it but I was resistant at first. I believed I’d get “bulky.” This is hysterical as now all I want to do is gain more and more muscle! At the time there were a lot of factors that made me realize that to live my best life I needed to take care of my body, which would also help me manage stress in a healthy way. CrossFit worked for me because there is so much variance and we keep each other accountable. Left to do any workout on my own I will not go as long or as hard.

Why did you become a trainer?

CrossFit has changed my life. The coaches and members at CRCF played a huge role in that. I’m the type of athlete that relies on other members and coaches to keep me going. My head often gets in the way of what I can do. I felt it was time to give back and be a part of helping others. Motivating others and sharing good vibes energize me. I want to work to help others get stronger and recognize their own strength.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

A three-way tie between Pull-ups, Snatches and Overhead Squats

What is your favorite cheat food?

I don’t cheat. The Zone Diet and I have an open relationship with pizza, chips, fries, queso and margaritas.

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

I’m torn between any female superhero with muscles vs. stick limbs and the women who walk into the gym alone for the first time. I admire when someone makes the choice to take that hour and devote it to her own well-being.
