Member Spotlight- Kirsten Olson

How did you hear about CrossFit and what was your first experience/WOD/workout?

My husband literally dragged me to my first class a little over 2 years ago. I was so scared because I had never done ANYTHING like this before, and had never really been athletic or into exercise. After that first workout I thought I was going to die! I LOVED it, and I was hooked from there.

When did you first come to Core Fit N Motion / Crow River CrossFit?

Little over 1 year ago

How many days do you work out at our facility?

Anywhere between 4-6 days/week

What classes do you normally take (times and specialties)?

I usually take the 530pm CrossFit Class, will occasionally take a kettlebell class, Saturday barbell class. The great thing about being unlimited is you can do a little of everything or whatever suites your schedule.

What motivates you/keeps you coming back to CrossFit?

I have made so much progress with weight lifting (something I never saw myself doing) strength, stamina and mental fortitude that I really never had before.

What accomplishment are you the most proud of (outside and inside of the gym)?

I think anyone who walks through the door of a Crossfit gym achieves a major accomplishment! My biggest accomplishment is I have so much more strength and stamina than I did before. I can keep up with my teenage boys, I work full time and I am completing my Bachelors in Nursing full time as well. I would not have been able to do that 2 years ago.

After a hard workout, what is your favorite meal?

I love a nice grilled steak or chicken, sweet potato, green beans, water- nothing better.

What are some of your interests outside of CrossFit and Kettle Bells?

Anything having to do with my boys, all 3 of them (hubby included). My church family, volunteering through WCCA, traveling to the mountains, and motorcycle rides.

What do you do for a living?

I am a Registered nurse

What is one goal that you are currently working on?

Completing the BSN program through MSU (only few weeks left!) and getting toe to bar, strict pull up, and double unders at the gym
