How did you hear about CrossFit and what was your first experience/WOD/workout?

I noticed the gym when I was driving by every day and did some research. The constant variability of the workouts really appealed to me. I have had memberships at 24 hour gyms in the past, and found that I don’t go very often because I would get bored. Treadmills, ellipticals, and other weight machines are not for me.

My first workout was 150 walking lunges for time, with burpees every minute. The two women in the class kicked my butt! It was a real eye opener for me to see how out of shape I was.

When did you first come to Core Fit N Motion / Crow River CrossFit?

August of 2014

How many days do you work out at our facility? What classes do you normally take (times and specialties)?

I have the unlimited membership, so as much as I can; usually 4-6 times per week. I typically do the 5:30 pm CrossFit class weekdays since our two girls are at the Kids Fit class at the same time two days a week. The Saturday 9:30 am CrossFit classes are usually a partner workout, and always fun. I do mix in a few kettlebell and barbell classes for variety.

What motivates you/keeps you coming back to Core Fit N Motion / Crow River CrossFit?

I am always looking forward to a new workout. Each one is different and a new challenge.

What accomplishment are you the most proud of (outside and inside of the gym)?

Making the leaderboard for the 500M and 1000M rowing. I am proud of being in better shape at almost 40, than when I was in my early 20’s.

After a hard workout, what is your favorite meal?

I don’t really have a cheat meal. A good homemade burger is pretty tempting.

What are some of your interests outside of CrossFit and Kettle Bells?

Traveling, spending time with family, kids activities

What do you do for a living?

Agronomy Sales Manager at Centra Sota Cooperative in Buffalo, MN-I lead a team of sales people at a farmer owned cooperative that helps farmers will all aspects of crop production.

What is one goal that you are currently working on?

To become proficient at double unders
